Women in Ministry

Dear friends in Christ,

I favor the possibility of women in all positions of ministry because it represents the glorious fulfillment of the gospel. (see Galatians 3:27-28). Often when weighing Scripture with Scripture, we must decide what the general principle is and what might be the exception to the rule. In the case of Galatians 3:27-28, clearly "In Christ there is not 'male and female'" is the general principle to which any other verses should be exceptions.
Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 both predicted that Christian daughters would prophesy. These verses are undeniable affirmations that God uses women to convey spiritual truths to the earth. It, therefore, is a reinforcement to the claim that women have access to the Spirit in Christ just as men do.

Stay tuned for more!

That's Just Your Interpretation

An excellent book dealing with apologetics is "That's Just Your Interpretation" by Paul Copan. It deals with challenges related to truth, reality, worldviews, and Christianity. This is a great addition to anyone's apologetics library.

Leadership Books

I recently completed reading the following excellent and inspring books. "Leading Beyond The Walls" by Adam Hamilton and "There's Power In The Connection" by Larry M. Goodpaster. Hamilton is senior pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Kansas City; one of the fastest growing churches. It has a membership approaching 13,000. Larry Goodpaster is the current bishop of the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. The AWF Conference is one of the very few annual conferences that has consistently recorded a positive gain in members despite the declining trend in the denomination. I am currently reading "UnChristian" by Kinnamen.

Vote for who?

Who to vote for? Since I lean toward Republican values that means Romney, McCain, Huckabee. Since I lean toward Christianity as my favored religion-that rules Romney out (besides he has a certain arrogance about him). So it leaves Huckabee or McCain.
